How we make money

NavoFin is an independent, founder-operated Canadian credit-card publication run by Caleb Larocque. NavoFin may earn a commission when a reader applies for a credit card or other financial product through a link on this site. Those links are identified as affiliate or partner links, and the relationship is disclosed on the relevant page.

What this changes for you

Nothing about the price or the product. The issuer pays the commission, not you. If you see a link labelled "Apply now" or "Partner offer", the issuer may pay a fixed fee or a percentage of an approved application.

What this changes for us

Affiliate compensation does not determine product rankings. Research and commercial relationships are handled as separate steps: cards are compared on published fees, earn rates, caps and eligibility requirements before any commercial relationship is discussed. If a card NavoFin earns nothing on is the better fit, that is what the article says.

Editorial independence

NavoFin is founder-operated, so the same person researches and writes the comparisons and handles any commercial relationships. To keep that honest, the ranking method is published on the About page, the issuer sources behind every product claim are linked at the bottom of each article, and partners never review, approve or edit an article before publication.

Affiliate networks

NavoFin works with, or applies to, financial affiliate networks and issuer programs that align with its audience. Where an application is pending, no commission is being earned and no partner link is presented as one.

Methodology

Comparisons look at effective annual value (rewards minus the annual fee at a stated spending level), the issuer's published eligibility requirements, category caps, FX costs, and the go-to interest rate after any promotional period. Approval is always subject to the issuer's underwriting.

Data freshness

There is no single site-wide extraction date. Each article and the comparison tool carry their own "last verified" date, and each card in the comparison tool links to the issuer's page it was checked against. Issuers change offers frequently, sometimes without notice — always confirm the current terms on the issuer's website before applying.
