Privacy Policy

NavoFin ("we", "us") is an independent Canadian personal finance publisher operating from navofin.ca. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site and use the AI Adviser, and what we do with it. We follow the principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

• Adviser chat messages. When you use the AI Adviser, the messages you type are sent to our AI provider (Lovable AI Gateway) to generate a response. Your chat history is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) on your device — we do not save it to a server database.
• Basic request data. Like most websites, our hosting provider logs standard request data (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention. This is used to rate-limit the Adviser and is not tied to a personal profile.
• No accounts today. NavoFin does not require signup. We do not currently collect names, email addresses, or payment information.

Cookies, local storage, and affiliate tracking

We use your browser's localStorage to remember your Adviser chat so you can pick it back up on your next visit. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies for behavioural profiling.

When you click an affiliate or partner link, the third-party partner may place a cookie or use another tracking method to attribute the application back to NavoFin. This is how commissions are calculated. Those cookies are managed by the partner, not by us, and are subject to the partner's privacy policy.

Third parties

• Lovable AI Gateway — processes your Adviser messages to generate responses. Messages are transmitted over HTTPS.
• Hosting — the site is served through Lovable's edge hosting infrastructure.
• Affiliate networks and partners — when you click a partner link, the partner may collect click and conversion data to calculate commissions. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Affiliate relationships

NavoFin earns commissions from card issuers and other financial partners when a reader signs up for a product through our links. This does not change the price you pay. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you and to request corrections. Because we do not store accounts or chat history on our servers, in most cases we hold nothing personally identifying about you. To ask a question or make a request, email hello@navofin.ca.

Changes

We may update this policy as NavoFin adds features (for example, newsletter signup, accounts, or additional affiliate tracking). Material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
